I'm Rev. Monica Jacobson-Tennessen, an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister currently living in Washington state. I have previously served congregations in Oregon and Massachusetts. My roots are in Oregon, and my life and ministry are grounded in gratitude, awe, generosity, and joy. I am called to help people make connections and grow in relationship to themselves, others, and the greater All That Is, that we may all be fully alive inside our lives.
I have deep respect for the capacity people hold to grow and to heal. In my ministry, I strive to create opportunities, through worship, ritual, and accompaniment, to support transformation and grounding.
Prior to ministry I worked in internet technology and libraries, including earning a Masters in Information Science from the University of Michigan. In 2015 I answered my call to ministry and matriculated at Meadville Lombard Theological School; following completion of my degree and internships in chaplaincy and congregational ministry, I was joyfully ordained in 2018.
My spouse and I have one child and two Siamese cats, who all fill our home with energy and delight. As an introvert and a bibliophile, I make daily time to read as one of my core spiritual practices. I can often be found with yarn in my hands, knitting something new.
